Are you considering psychotherapy? Are you stuck in old habits, but unsure of how to do things differently? I will support you in working through your internal conflicts that can cause anxiety and block your self expression, thus allowing a greater range of feelings and awareness, and the opportunity to practice new behaviors. I will encourage you to draw on your inner strength and wisdom, so that you can make healthier life choices.
Through increased awareness, you can uncover your destructive belief patterns and addictive behaviors, to identify your true needs and find new ways to fulfill them. This self-discovery process helps in developing more direct and honest communication, healthier interpersonal relationships, more satisfying work, school, and family life, and greater self-confidence.
My style of psychotherapy is a synthesis of transpersonal, contemplative, and psychodynamic approaches. I also use Gestalt parts work and a multi-disciplinary approach to dreams to connect with unconscious material and explore deep inner landscapes. I strive to help my clients live and express themselves with freedom and choice, to build inner strength and clarity so they're able to deal with the challenges of life. I support them to move through obstacles toward a wider range of options, love and accept all aspects of themselves, including the painful, vulnerable or shameful ones, in order to be a more fully integrated, whole person.
The therapy process can help you to develop more authentic communication, healthier interpersonal relationships, more satisfying work, school, and family life, and greater self-confidence. Some of the tools you can learn in therapy include:
You can also expand your range of emotions and learn to understand and accept your states of mind with less fear and judgment. When you have more compassion toward yourself, you have access to more choices in responding to life's situations, especially challenging ones.Therapy can support you in finding balance in your life, taking care of both self and others, and understanding the relationship between the past, present, and future.
Talking reflects what is true in the moment, a fluid process of moving toward deeper understanding and letting go. Hearing ourselves talk can shift our awareness or emotions, move us into a different place, or release things that we no longer need to hold onto. Speaking freely can help us explore the nature of our mind without needing to be attached to our thoughts.
My fee is $180 for a 50-minute session. I offer a sliding scale, which can be discussed individually, according to need.
